Woman relieved of chain

CHENNAI: A housewife was relieved of her five-sovereign gold chain at Tirumangalam here. The suspect came to her house posing as her husband’s friend on Wednesday.

Police said V. Sumathi (30) of Kambar Colony was feeding her two-year-old baby when the accused came enquiring about her husband.

While she was explaining that he was not at home, the unidentified man snatched her chain and escaped.

The Tirumangalam police have registered a case.
