dated January 9, 1959: Audio-visual education

The National Board of Audio-Visual Education has approved the scheme of the establishment of a national institute for audio-visual education. The Board, which concluded its two-day session in New Delhi on January 6, has also suggested several important measures to popularise and encourage the use of audio-visual aids to education in the country. The proposed institute will provide regular training facilities to teachers in this field. It will be part of the educational development programme of the Ministry of Education under the Second Five-Year Plan and would help to raise a corps of trained personnel in the production and use of audio-visual aids.
