RTC to introduce 53 new services

VISAKHAPATAM: The Visakhapatnam Region of APSRTC will introduce as many as 53 new services this year. This is part of augmentation of services programme of the Region, approved by the Executive Director (Operations), Damodar Das.

Metro services of the RTC have become popular with the commuters in the city and there had been a demand, specially from the commuters of city outskirts, to augment these services. As a response to this, the RTC would run majority of the newly allotted services viz., 35 as Metro services. In addition to the 111 Metro services at present running in the city, 32 new services would be run in the existing city routes, namely 300V, 300M, 6A/H, 28A/V, 38T, 900K, 999, 12D, 99, 400, 55K,38K 400N,222 and 541.

The remaining three services would run in route No.60Z (Simhachalama-Ramakrishna Beach (via Adivivaram and Mudasarlova,) and route No. 600 (Anakapalli –Scindia).

Of the remaining new services, two Super Luxury buses would run on Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam-Srikakulma (non-stop) routes and two more in Visakhapatnam-Amalapuram route. Two Deluxe buses are allotted to the route between Narsipatnam and Visakhapatnam.

Keeping in view the requirements of people in the agency areas, two Express buses are allotted to the route between Visakhapatnam-Bhadrachalam ( via Narsipatnam and Chintapalli). Also, six city ordinary services would be run, additionally on busy routes like 40, 48A, 52D, 20A, 16 and 600 (Anakapalli-Steel Plant).
