KLCA hails panel suggestion

Special correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Latin Catholic Association (KLCA) has welcomed the Law Reforms Commission’s reported decision to recommend to the government creation of a trust along the lines of the Devaswom Board and the Wakf Board to manage the properties of the Church.

Leaders of the Association Anto Marcelin and Cordial Stephens said in a statement here on Thursday that it would enable the faithful to handle their own wealth in a democratic and transparent manner.

It would also help bishops and priests to concentrate on spiritual and humanitarian work, they added.
