Tourists get luxury cruise at Yanam

Puducherry Chief Minister launches facility


It is part of the project to develop Konaseema region

A three-star hotel is being built on the outskirts of Yanam


Kakinada: ‘Shuddha Saveri’, a luxury cruise of M/s Saveri Projects Private Limited (SPPL), was inaugurated at Yanam on Thursday by Chief Minister of Puducherry V. Vaithilingam.

It is a part of the first phase of tourism projects SPPL has planned to develop in Konaseema region of East Godavari district at a total cost of Rs. 25 crores.

A day’s trip on Shuddha Saveri offers fun-filled entertainment and a spectacular view of the rural landscape comprising lush green paddy fields. It also paves the way for exploring various tourist attractions in the district. “The mission of SPPL is to tap the natural resources in the area and provide affordable holidays and world class amenities,” Managing Director Venkatesh Chada said.

In addition to the luxury cruise, a three-star hotel ‘Saveri Keerthana’ is being built on the outskirts of Yanam. It is spread over 2.5 acres with 80 rooms with state-of-the-art amenities, which include music therapy, facilities for yoga and meditation and an ayurvedic centre. Bhoomi pooja for it is scheduled for Friday morning.

Ministers of Puducherry Malladi Krishna Rao (Tourism), V. Valsaraj (Home), M.O.H.F. Shahjahan (Public Works) and M. Kandasamy (Welfare), Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee president A.V. Subramanian, Tourism Secretary to Government of Puducherry Cholleti Prabhakar, Rajahmundry MP Undavalli Arun Kumar, Yanam Regional Administrator Y. Lakshminarayana Reddy and Yanam Municipal Council Chairman G. Chandra Rao were among those present.
