VIZIANAGARAM: “Political parties that crossed swords in the past are now coming together. There are no ethics or clarity regarding alliances. The political situation is very fluid,” said K. Haribabu, BJP national executive member. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Dr. Haribabu said that Telengana Rashtra Samiti had still not decided on alliances. The TRS leadership was holding talks with both TDP and Praja Rajyam Party. At least with the announcement of Election Commission that the elections would be held as scheduled it was curtains down on that uncertainty. Buoyed by the response to Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra of the BJP in Hyderabad in which the party’s prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani participated, a similar yatra in coastal Andhra was scheduled to take place in Vijayawada on February 4. Dr. Haribabu said that Mr. Advani and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would participate in the meeting. Another meeting would be organised in the Rayalaseema region at a later date, he added. He reiterated that its main agenda was to project the UPA government’s failure to control prices of essential commodities and terrorism and expose the vote bank politics of the Congress. He said that the attempt to cut prices of petrol and diesel marginally was an election gimmick. B. Ranga Mohan Rao, state BJP secretary, P.V.V. Gopala Raju, state committee member, K.V.NR. Prasad, district president and B. Siva Reddy, general secretary were present.
