IMA bats for Galla Aruna

Staff Reporter

TIRUPATI: Indian Medical Education has backed the Minister for Medical Education and Health Insurance, Galla Arunakumari, and took serious exception to the comments reportedly made by TDP leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu against her.

Pointing at the huge success of Rajiv Arogyasri in reaching out to the common man, the association recalled the Minister’s efforts in getting an ordinance issued to safeguard doctors from assaults. IMA Tirupati branch president B. Haranath and secretary R.R. Reddy expressed concern over political mudslinging touching its low and said no member of the medical fraternity could digest the verbal attack against the Minister, who made implementation of ‘108’ and ‘104’ medical services a reality. They also observed that the IMA’s recent meet at Indore recognised Ms. Arunakumari as the ‘Best Health minister’.
