CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government on Friday enforced the Haryana Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1974 (Act 40 of 1974) prohibiting for six months any strike by officers under the employment of public sector oil companies in the State. Chief Secretary Dharam Vir said this decision was taken as it was felt that any strike by officers of public sector oil companies would adversely affect the functioning of essential services in the State.
