In all glow: Women lighting lamps as part of Ashtothara Sahasra Deepostsavam at Ramalayam in Nalgonda.on Friday. — NALGONDA: Women devotees clad in traditional attire lit up 8,000 lamps as part of Ashtothara Sahasra Deepotsavam on the premises of Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy temple at Ramagiri in Nalgonda here on Friday. The spectacular event was performed amidst chanting of Vedic hymns in the temple as part of the ongoing Dhanurmasotsavam on Friday evening. The temple glowed in the light of the lamps. Abhishekam of Lord Krishna was performed besides religious discourses, Vishnu sahasranama parayanam and other special rituals under the supervision of Sri Tridandi Ashtakshari Sampathkumara Ramanuja Jeeyar swamy. The temple chief priest P. Krishnamacharyulu, the temple trust board chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy, the Vikasa Tarangini town unit president Ranga Rao and others were present. Meanwhile, the temple trust board has made elaborate arrangements for the ensuing Sri Godharangamannar Kalyanotsavam to be held on January 13 evening. Special rituals such as Shathagatabhishekam ceremony would be held the same day in the morning.
