Srinivas asks partymen to continue Sankshema utsavalu

He reviews implementation of welfare activities in mandals

VIZIANAGARAM: Pradesh Congress Committee President Dharmapuri Srinivas on Saturday asked the party leaders and workers to utilise the ongoing ‘Samkshema Utsavalu’ programme in every panchayat as an opportunity for canvassing in favour of the party.

“Instead of going to people for votes before elections, it will be better to meet them now and earn appreciation for implementing innumerable welfare schemes for their benefit”, he added.

Word of caution

As a word of caution, Mr. Srinivas told partymen, who participated in the DCC general body meeting at Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium here, not to be overconfident that the welfare schemes launched by the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Government would see the party through in the ensuing elections.

Feedback

No doubt, the feedback he received during his participation in ‘Samkshema Utsavalu’ in 16 districts was that the people were happy.

He asked them to continue the ‘utsavalu’, even after Sankranti festival, until each family was apprised of the details of schemes.

Beneficiaries list

The list of beneficiaries could be found in website, he said.

Further, Mr. Srinivas asked them to show people that they are united and it would automatically attract neutrals towards the party.

Any dissensions and backstabbing would harm party in the elections, he said and asked them not to be lethargic in popularising welfare schemes.

Earlier, Mr. Srinivas reviewed the reports of mandal parishad presidents on the implementation of various welfare activities in their mandals.

Ministers S. Vijayarama Raju and Botsa Satyanarayana, DCC president P. Sambasiva Raju and MLAs were present.
