Tata Motors not to shut down plant

NEW DELHI: Tata Motors on Saturday said that it cancelled plans to go for another block closure of its Jamshedpur plant, where it mainly manufactures heavy commercial vehicles, for six days from January 12.

“The planned block closure from January 12 to 17 stands cancelled due to changes in production schedules,” a company spokesperson said.

Normal operations

Consequently, the Jamshedpur plant will have normal operations, he added.

Earlier, the company had said it planned another block closure of the plant, which would have been the fourth time in three months as demand of commercial vehicles slumped. — PTI
