Truckers’ strike continues

VISAKHAPATNAM: Truckers have intensified their strike which continued for the sixth day on Saturday.

Visakha Goods Transport Association secretary R.D. Mandal said that the strike was intensified following the arrest of All-India Motor Transport Congress president and the secretary on Friday night.

The truckers are demanding among other things reducing the diesel price by Rs.10 a litre, tyre prices by 35 per cent and provide a bailout package to the transport industry.
