Dignitaries attend Mishra funeral

NEW DELHI: A large number of friends and admirers on Saturday attended the funeral of veteran journalist R.K. Mishra, who passed away in Bangalore on Friday.

Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari; Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani; Communist Party of India general secretary A.B. Bardhan; the former Ambassador to the United States, Abid Hussain; the former Foreign Secretaries K. Raghunath and M.K. Rasgotra; and industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his wife were present at the cremation at the Lodi Road crematorium here in the evening.

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh; the former Union Minister, Arun Nehru; BJP MP Balbir Punj; the former MP, Vishwajeet Prithvi Singh; AICC spokesperson Manish Tewari; the former heads of the Research and Analysis Wing, Vikram Sood and A.S. Dulat; and mediapersons were also present.
