Some 300 musicians from different parts of the country will take part VIJAYAWADA: Sangeeta Sanmandali, a city-based cultural organisation, will conduct the weeklong ‘Saduguru Sri Tyagarajaswamivaari Aaradhana Sangeetotsavam’ from January 14. The musical programme will be held at Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju Kalavedika of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government College for Music and Dance at Durgapuram, in which over 300 musicians from different parts of the country will participate in the event. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Pemmaraju Surya Rao and K.V. Reddy, president and secretary of the organisation, respectively, said that the Sangeeta Sanmandali would provide lodging and boarding for musicians coming from outside the city. The inaugural session would be held at 6 p.m. on January 14, and the music concerts would be held between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. every day from January 15. ‘Nagara Sankeerthana’ would be organised from 8 a.m. on January 15 and the recital of ‘Pancharatna Keerthanas’ would be held on January 18. The programme would come to an end with ‘Sri Tyagaraja Divyanama Utsava Sampradaya Keertana Brundaganam’ and ‘Anjaneya Utsavam’ on January 20. Vice-president of the Sangeeta Sanmandali C.V.K. Prasad, assistant secretary M. Lakshmi Narayana Raju and others were present.
