MYSORE: Responding to the grievances aired by local industrialists, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has promised to establish a new service centre for the Hootagalli Industrial Area by April. At an interaction between industrialists and CESC organized by the Mysore Industries Association (MIA), A.N. Ramesh, Managing Director, CESC, also promised to improve power supply to industries and urban users. CESC will also constitute a vigilance unit to monitor the theft of transformers and transfer oil in association with MIA and the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board. Tanvir Sait, MLA, sought quality power supply to industries. He urged CESC to provide an opportunity for regularisation of illegal connections. Suresh Kumar Jain, Secretary, MIA, highlighted the power problems plaguing the industrial sector and pointed out that many enterprises were hard-pressed to compete on an equal footing in a globalised economy owing to erratic power supply.
