KOCHI: The Jacobite faction of the Malankara Church has decided to hold a marathon prayer meeting at the Mar Athanasius Study Centre at the entrance to the Thrikkunnathu seminary from January 22 and 25. Varghese Kallappara, spokesman for the Jacobite Church, said here on Sunday that the church wanted the State government to allow the faithful to offer prayers at the seminary on January 25, as they were allowed last year. The spokesman said the claims made by the Orthodox faction that there was an agreement on entry to the seminary and related establishments were false. He said there was no such agreement and that Thampu George Thukalan, secretary of the Jacobite Church, had not signed any such agreement. The Jacobite Church demanded that the Orthodox faction submit documents related to the seminary to the mediators in the dispute. The claims that the documents had been submitted to the authorities concerned were an attempt to mislead the people, Fr. Kallappara said.
