State gets lion’s share of road projects: Baalu

KARUR: Tamil Nadu is getting the lion’s share of the projects meant to develop National Highways, Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways T.R. Baalu said on Sunday.
Speaking after dedicating a new rail over-bridge at Lalapet near here, he said that under the inter-State connectivity and economic importance scheme, the State was granted in- principle approval for nine works costing Rs.21.82 crore.
The works would help to improve 61 km of State Highways.
Two works would be implemented with 100 per cent Central government share, at an estimated cost of Rs.8.85 crore.
