Goods train derails in Assam

Guwahati: Eight wagons and the engine of a goods train carrying soyabean oil derailed between Dhupdhara and Boko stations in lower Assam on Sunday morning. Nobody was injured in the accident.
The Railways will conduct an inquiry. Senior officials, including general manager of the Northeast Frontier Railway Ashutosh Swami reached the spot to oversee restoration work.
The tracks were cleared at 4.30 p.m., said Public Relations Officer Jayanta Kumar Sarma.
Cancelled
As the wagons blocked the tracks, 705 up passenger running from New Bongaigaon to Guwahati and 708 down passenger running from Guwahati to New Bongaigaon were cancelled.
Diverted
Other trains, including the 2518 dn. Garib Rath from Guwahati and 2345 up Saraighat Express coming to Guwahati were diverted via Rangiya.
