Aditya wins title

Mumbai: Aditya Mehta beat Brijesh Damani 56-51, 73(65)-33, 86(61)-9, 21-66, 61-55, 51-17, 108(108)-18 in the final of the Nahar-MIG all-India snooker tournament here on Sunday. The icing was a 108-break in the seventh frame, earning the champion prize for the highest break, apart from the Rs. one lakh purse for the title.

Earlier, Aditya got the better of Alok Kumar 5-1 in the semifinals, while Brijesh defeated M.S. Arun 5-3.

Sukhraj Nahar, chairman of Nahar Group, gave away the prizes, along with Dr. Ajit Desai, MIG CC secretary.

The results: Semifinals: Aditya bt Alok Kumar 5-1 (86-7, 22-87, 98(66)-23, 80-51, 69(69)-8, 58-14); Brijesh bt M.S. Arun 5-3 (68-45, 62-15, 101(55)-25, 54-34, 18-64, 13-74, 12-82, 69-15). — Special Correspondent
