Talent Series: main draw from today

MYSORE: R. Nagaraj Tennis Centre (Mysore), under the aegis of the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), will conduct the AITA Talent Series tennis tournament for under-12 & under-14 at the SJCE courts here from January 12 to 16.

The main draw begins on Monday and players from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Maharashtra and Kerala will compete in the tournament.

In the final qualifying round in the boys’ under-14 section, Chiranthan, K. Hemanth, M.S. Rakshith, Alok Aradhya, C. Vasisht, Chirag Prasanth (all from Karnataka), and Harish Chakravarthy and Akhil (both Tamil Nadu) won their matches to enter the main draw.

In the under-12 boys’ category, H. Chakravarthy, Kumaran Nishok Bharath, Varun Venkat and P. Revan qualified for the main event.

The seedings:

Boys: Under-14: 1. Suraj R. Prabodh (Kar); 2. Rohit R. Gowda (Kar); 3. S. Kishen (Kar); 4. M.S. Rakshith (Kar) and 5. Venkata N. Ramanan (TN).

Under-12: Varun Pathare (Mah); 2. Arjun Patnaik (AP); 3. B.R. Nikshep (Kar); 4. Anirudh Jain Bhan (Ker) and 5. Dhurvakumar (Kar).

Girls: Under-14: Tarini Chandrashekar (Kar); 2. Nupur (Kar); 3. Varunya (Kar); 4. Shloka (Kar) and 5. Shreya (Kar).

Under-12: 1. Nupur (Kar); 2. A. Shameema (TN); 3. C.S. Praneetha (TN) and 4. Shika N. Singh (Kar).
