Hyderabad: The Human Rights Forum and other voluntary organisations on Sunday demanded suspension of the District Collector, Navin Mittal, and police officials for denying entry to the Advocate Commissioner K.S. Murthy for conducting a study at the recently demolished Bhimraobada site. The High Court appointed K.S. Murthy as Advocate Commissioner to make a study of the demolition of houses at Bhimraobada by the district administration. He was to submit his report by January 19. Police had denied permission to Mr. Murthy to enter Bhimraobada site on Saturday and this was a clear violation of court orders, said Human Rights Forum Vice-president Jeevan Kumar at a press conference here. Court action sought“Interestingly, Collector Navin Mittal and police officials who are to implement the court orders have failed in enforcing the orders. The High Court should take stern action and suspend them,” demanded Confederation of Voluntary Organisations director Mazhar Hussain. “We are living in Bhimraobada since ages. We have all the documents, including electricity bills, ration cards, D-forms. But the district administration is favouring Congress and has forcibly evicted us,” charged Komaraiah, representative of Bhimraobada residents.
