Tractor seized

EDAPADI: A tractor, which transported illicitly quarried sand from Thangayur lake on Sunday, was seized.

Officials said that on information that clandestine sand quarrying was going on the lake bed, Tahsildhar Subramaniam launched a surprise raid and found the tractor transporting the sand.

It was seized and the owner was fined Rs. 25,000. Further investigations are on.
