‘Mee Shreyobhilashi’ adjudged best film

Ahuti Prasad gets best character actor award


HYDERABAD: ‘Mee Shreyobhilashi’ produced by Sonia Reddy, daughter of C.C. Reddy, Advisor to Government, bagged the Nandi Award for best film in 2007, followed by Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Happy Days’ and ‘Lakshyam’ directed by Srivasu.

At a press conference here on Monday, C. Parthasarathi, MD of AP State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation, said Charmme was adjudged best actress and Venkatesh the best actor for their roles in the films ‘Mantra’ and ‘Adavaari Maatalaku Arthale Verule’, respectively.

Ahuti Prasad got the best character actor for his role in ‘Chandamama’, while Janaki was named best actress in a supporting role for the film ‘Amulyam’ and Jagapathi Babu got the award for best actor in supporting role for ‘Lakshyam’.

Krishnavamsi was named best director for ‘Chandamama’ while the award for best first film director went to Ravi Tenali for ‘Muhurtham’ and Sree Vytla got the best screenplay award for ‘Dhee’ and Mickey J. Meyer got the Best Music Director Award for ‘Happy Days’. Kousalya’s ‘Gundelona Nuvve ..’ song from the film ‘Satyabhama’ got her the best singer (female) award while Karthik’s ‘Oh! My friend’ from the film ‘Happy Days’ got him the best male singer’s award.

The awards will be given away in February, Mr. Parthasarathi said.

The special jury awards went to Bhumika Chawla for her role in ‘Satyabhama’ and Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja for ‘Chiruta’. The film ‘Gowtham Buddha’ and cinematographer N. Sudhakar Reddy (‘Anasuya’) also got the awards.
