Lok Satta for police reforms

KURNOOL: The activists of Lok Satta demonstrated at the Collectorate here on Monday urging the government to undertake reforms for an autonomous police system in the State.

Lok Satta secretary C. Yellaiah who led the demonstration said the present police system had no functional freedom.

The system which was developed to the serve the interests of colonial rulers was still in vogue. He said Lok Satta had undertaken a campaign to press for reforms based on the guidelines of the Supreme Court.
