Tuticorin: A total of 9,39,711 electors in the Tuticorin district are registered after carrying out amendments in the voter list, said District Collector R. Palaniyandi. Speaking to reporters recently, he said that Vilathikulam Assembly constituency has 1,62, 383 electors including 80,099 men and 82, 284 women; Tuticorin has 1, 67, 244 electors including 84,070 men and 83,174 women; Tiruchendur has 1, 58, 487 electors with 75,803 men and 82,684 women; Srivaikundam has 1, 54, 399 electors with 73,569 men and 80, 830 women while Ottapidaram (SC) constituency has 1, 44,590 voters including 71, 975 men and 72, 615 women. In Kovilpatti, there are 1, 52, 608 voters including 74, 746 men and 77, 862 women. The total stood at 9, 39,711 electors including 4, 60,262 men and 4, 79,449 women. According to officials, after effecting amendments as per the Election Commission of India guidelines, the voter list in all the six constituencies had an addition of 22, 239 men and 20, 472 women electors. The women voters outnumbered men in the district, said N.B. Nagarajan, Tahsildar (Election).
