Address proof card to be launched today

An initiative to help public establish their proof of identity

MADURAI: The Department of Posts is launching a new service, ‘address proof card,’ an initiative to help the public establish their proof of identity without difficulty.

According to a release from the Post Master General, Southern Region, the scheme will be launched at the Madurai Head Post Office on Friday.

Applications for the card will be available at the Head Post Office.

To Indian citizens

The card would be issued to Indian citizens for establishing their proof of address on contingencies.

The cost of the application form is Rs.10.

The processing fee and the cost of the card is Rs. 240, which can be paid during the time of submission of filled-in forms.
