COIMBATORE: Med Vista Health Care Solutions, a private organisation based in Coimbatore, is launching a career aptitude test for students from Standards IX to XII. The programme is aimed at assessing and evaluating a child’s potential and recommending the career suitable for him or her. “The idea behind the programme is to help students estimate their passion and interest and guide them towards the profession they would enjoy and excel in,” says Robin Tim David, Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologist of Med Vista Health Care Solutions. It will also help them identify the areas where their strengths lie, he adds. According to Mr. David, the methods used for the evaluation involve the use of standardised tools and software developed by experienced psychologists. More than 15 aptitudes of the child are tested in the programme. It also includes an evaluation of their IQ. A report is generated, which is discussed with the child’s parents and teachers and counselling is provided. The children are also given personal user IDs and passwords to the web portal developed by Med Vista where they can access the details of colleges and institutions where they can pursue their areas of interest. The programme is being launched in Coimbatore following the huge response it elicited from over 200 schools where it was experimented with in Kerala.
