Lucknow: A wanted criminal, who escaped from the police custody last year and was allegedly involved in over a dozen cases of murder and arson, was arrested with his wife in Chandauli district, Home department officials said on Saturday. Jamshed, who escaped from the police custody in May last year, was arrested with his wife Naazim from Chandauli railway station, where the duo was trying to board a Delhi-bound train, they said. Jamshed was wanted in around 16 cases relating to murder, attempt on life, arson, theft under Gangster Act and National Security Act and carried a cash reward of Rs 10,000 on his head, the officials said. His wife Naazim, who helped him in escaping from the police custody, also carried a cash reward of Rs 2,500 on her head.
