BANGALORE: The Gulbarga Principal District and Sessions Judge on Saturday sentenced K. Thimmappa, the district manager of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Corporation, to two years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs. 20,000 on him.

The judge found Thimmappa guilty of accepting bribe of Rs. 500 for releasing deposit amount of an agency in March 2006.

Thimmappa was convicted under Sections 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. — Staff Correspondent
