Campaign against war

TIRUVANNAMALAI: The Tamil Nadu Women’s Collective, a non-governmental organisation, conducted a signature campaign here against any war to resolve the issues plagues the ties between India and Pakistan.

Volunteers displayed a cloth banner bearing anti-war slogans in front of the Gandhi statue, and the people affixed their signature on it.

S. Sumathi, taluk co-ordinator, led the campaign.

Speakers called for a joint mechanism between India and Pakistan to stamp out terrorism, and both the nations should respect the UN and SAARC conventions and go in for confidence-building measures.
