DEHRA DUN: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttarakhand has shortlisted at least 25 names for the five Lok Sabha seats from the hill State and would send it to the party’s Central leadership for a final call. Chief Minister B.C. Khanduri met party’s State president Bacchi Singh Rawat and former Chief Minister Nityanand Swami to decide on the names, sources said. The list would now be sent to the party’s Central Election Committee, they said, adding that there were at least five contenders for each seat. Meanwhile, Mr. Rawat has asked party workers in Tehri and Uttarkashi to gear up for the poll campaign and spread the party’s message in the villages. — PTI
