Brace by Amjad
NEW DELHI: Amjad Hussain scored a brace as Indian National Football Club (INFC) outplayed Tarun Sangha 4-0 in a Group ‘B’ preliminary league match of the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) annual senior division open clubs’ championship at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, Hussain scored two back-to-back goals (67th and 68th minutes) to stun the Tarun Sangha defenders. He capitalised on a defensive lapse to net the first goal and banked on a rebound to extend the lead.
The third goal came from Manish Nalthani in the 74th minute, while Gyan Moyon sealed Tarun Sangha’s fate with a 76th-minute strike.
After completing their preliminary league engagements, INFC and Tarun Sangha have 16 and 13 points respectively. INFC tops the Group ‘B’ while Tarun Sangha is placed second. — Sports Reporter
