Four killed in road accidents
NEW DELHI: Four persons, including a girl, were killed in separate accidents in the Capital during the past 24 hours.
Forty-year-old Kalyani was crossing the road along with her neighbour Rampyari (35) and a one-year-old girl, Leela, when a speeding truck hit them from behind on Naseerpur Road in Palam around 3 p.m. Kalyani and Leela sustained head injuries and were declared dead at a hospital. The driver fled the spot leaving the truck behind.
In a hit-and-run case, Pratap Sharma, who was returning home on a motorcycle, was fatally knocked down by a vehicle at Timarpur in the early hours of Saturday. He sustained serious head injuries and was declared brought dead at a hospital. Pratap, a resident of Wazirabad, worked as an engineer with a private company in Noida.
On Friday evening, Shiv Singh (35) was crushed under the wheels of a Blueline bus at Narela while returning home on a motorcycle. He was a resident of Sonepat in Haryana. Bus driver Ramkumar has been arrested.
