Parties garland statue of MGR

HOMAGE: AIADMK members who garlanded the statue of former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran in Tiruchi on Saturday.

TIRUCHI: Cadres of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi garlanded the statue of AIADMK founder and late Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran in the city on the occasion of his 92nd birth anniversary on Saturday.

AIADMK cadres led by the party urban district secretary A. Murugaiyan garlanded the statue of the late leader near the District Court Complex in the city.

The party’s Srirangam Assembly Constituency MLA M. Paranjothi and other members were present on the occasion.

On behalf of the DMDK, the party State deputy general secretary and former Minister K.P. Krishnan accompanied by DMDK members including former MLA Arokiasamy garlanded MGR’s statue here.

BJP cadres led by the party district president Kannan and All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi members headed by the party State organising secretary Paneerselvam also garlanded the statue of the late leader. The AIADMK organised public meetings at Keerakollai, VOC Thidal and Woraiyur in the city in connection with MGR’s birth anniversary.
