U.P. beats TN

Chinnakurali: Uttar Pradesh staved off a determined Tamil Nadu challenge to coast through to a 17-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-16, 15-13 win and make it to the boys’ final yet again, in the 35th edition of the junior National volleyball championship here on Saturday.

The results: Boys (semifinals): U.P. bt TN 17-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-16, 15-13. Quarterfinals: TN bt Haryana 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 26-24; AP bt Kerala 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-23.

Girls (semifinals): Haryana bt West Bengal 19-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-21. Quarterfinals: Kerala bt TN 25-18, 25-20, 28-26; Karnataka bt U.P. 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.
