Bangalore: “We have to remember the contributions of yesteryear’s greats, including Gubbi Veranna, B.R. Panthulu and B.S. Ranga. They have helped develop the Kannada film industry to what it is now. It is time we all worked together and improved the industry,” said veteran actor B. Sarojadevi Sriharsha. Ms. Sarojadevi was felicitated by renowned film producer Parvathamma Rajkumar, as part of the third Bengalooru International Film Festival, here on Sunday. “I have acted in films of all languages. During the golden years of my career, I have acted with great actors, including Rajkumar, Kalyan Kumar and Nageshwara Rao. I consider it an honour to have been able to do so,” she said. Felicitating Ms. Sarojadevi, Ms. Parvathamma said: “It is sad that B.S. Ranga, one of the finest people in the film industry, could not make it to today’s function.” Litterateur U.R. Ananthamurthy, film personality K.S.L. Swamy and journalist V.N. Subba Rao spoke.
