Boy George London: A former cell mate of singer Boy George has revealed that the pop idol broke down before being sent to London’s Pentonville prison as he was terrified of being mistreated by other prisoners. Richard Lyttle, who was bailed out later, said he tried to warn George and told him, “You’re gay and a celebrity — the other prisoners will come after you.” Boy George wept as he was sent to prison and said, “I can’t go to jail... they will try to kill me because of who I am,” Rechard told the Mirror. The singer was jailed for 15 months on Friday for falsely imprisoning a Norwegian male escort Audun Calrsen and thrashing him with a chain, said the paper. — PTI
