South Indian Bank to open more branches

NEW DELHI: The Thrissur (Kerala)-based South Indian Bank is going to open 40 more branches in the country, 11 of them in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab, according to its Managing Director and CEO, V. A. Joseph. At present the bank has 30 branches in the Delhi region, including 20 in NCR.

Participating in the 80th anniversary celebrations of the bank and launch of a special “80 Plus” fixed deposit scheme -- that provides up to 11.25 per cent interest per year for senior citizens -- at a function here on Tuesday, Mr. Joseph said there are plans to open branches in Himachal Pradesh and Meghalaya too.
