ECoRSA in semifinals

VISAKHAPATNAM: Last year’s runner-up East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECoRSA) moved into the semifinals of the 16th annual The Hindu Trophy cricket tournament, beating Victoria CC by 53 runs at the Ukku stadium here on Friday.

An 84-run stand for the fourth wicket between D. Narendra Kumar (82, 10x4, 1x6) and K. Kumaraswami (76 not out, 7x4, 1x6) was the mainstay of the Railway team’s total of 243 for seven.

In reply, Victoria was all out for 190. Mahesh top-scored for Victoria with 41 (3x4), while Ravishankar made 36 (4x4) and Satyendra Kumar 33 (2x4).

The scores: ECoRSA 243 for seven in 50 overs (D. Narendra Kumar 82, K. Kumaraswami 76 n.o.) beat Victoria 190 in 44.4 overs (Mahesh 41, M. Appala Raju four for 46). — Special Correspondent
