World leaders wish Manmohan speedy recovery

NEW DELHI: World leaders have sent their best wishes for a speedy recovery of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who underwent a repeat coronary bypass graft at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani sent bouquets and best wishes to Dr. Singh.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has sent a warm message to Dr. Singh expressing his wishes for fast recovery and good health.

King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck while wishing early recovery said that the Central Monk Body was holding special prayers in monasteries across the country for his good health. He hoped that Dr. Singh would soon be able to resume his “invaluable service” to his country.

Bhutanese Prime Minister Jigme Y. Thinley too has extended good wishes of the people and the government to Dr. Singh.
