Person who led the attack absconding No arrests made in house raid incident MANGALORE: Ten alleged activists of Sri Ram Sene were arrested and produced before a magistrate in connection with Saturday’s attack on a pub in Hampankatta area here. The accused have been identified as Subhash Padil, Raghavendra Pai, Subhash, Harish Kumar, Jeevan, Kirtan Raj Shetty, Sharath Padavinangadi, Dinesh, Vinod and Nitesh. The legal adviser of Sri Ram Sene Dinakar Shetty, who is believed to have led the attack, is absconding, according to the Mangalore North police. Despite the convener of Sri Ram Sene Madhu Urwastore claiming responsibility for the second incident where a house was raided and its occupants grievously injured, the police have not made any arrests. “We are still investigating the incident,” said the Additional Superintendent of Police R. Dileep. Those injured in the second incident at Balmatta have been identified as Abdul Hameed and Sharief. They are undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Hameed said that he had organised a small “get-together” for friends. “Suddenly, five men armed with clubs and knifes barged into the house and attacked us,” he said. “The leader of the gang was repeatedly telling his followers to kill us,” he said.
