NEW DELHI: As many as 16 people from the officers and other ranks of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been named for the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service by the President Pratibha Devisingh Patil. Rajni Kant Mishra, IPS, Joint Director of Economic Offences Wing, H. C. Awasthy, IPS, Joint Director of Anti-Corruption Wing of the CBI in Delhi, Raju Rangarajan, SP of the Special Unit in Chennai and R. K. Choubey, SP of the CBI Academy in Ghaziabad have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been given to 12 personnel including Praveer Ranjan, Sonali Mishra and Rajiv Singh, all IPS officers posted as DIGs in the agency. The others are: Ramnath Azad, Assistant Director; Ravinder Singh, Additional SP, both posted in Delhi; Ashok Babu, Deputy SP; M. Shajahan, Inspector; Uday Keshave More, Inspector; Mohan Singh Rawat and Vijay Pal Singh, both Sub-Inspectors; K. Sasidharan Nair, Assistant Sub-Inspector; and B. D. Kandwal, Head Constable.
