ACA team for New Zealand

VIJAYAWADA: A 15-member Andhra Cricket Association team comprising players from State u-16 and u-19 teams will leave for New Zealand for a three-week long exposure trip, said ACA secretary V. Chamusdeswaranth here on Monday.

“The team will leave for Auckland in the last week of February. Andhra emerged South Zone champions in u-16 and the u-19 team also fared well this season. As a token of appreciation, ACA is sending the team to play aboard,” Chamundeswaranath said.

The team: D.B. Prashanth Kumar, D. Siva Kumar, T. Vamsi Krishna, M. Ajay Kumar, B. Sudhakar, M.V.B Sriram, B. Siva Charan Singh, K. Srikar Bharat, C. Vinod Kumar, C. Sneha Kishore, T. V. Sharan babu, K. Murali Krishna, Y. Jagadish Kumar, J. Siva Koteswara Rao, Sk. M. Basha; Coach: Vincent Vinay Kumar; Managers: Koka Ramesh and Ramesh Babu.

Kho kho tourney

Eight teams representing South-West and North-East Zones will take part in the three-day all-India inter-zonal inter-university kho kho (men’s) tournament from January 27 at Acharya Nagarjuna University campus.

The teams: ANU (Guntur), Mumbai, Shivaji, Mysore, Kurukshetra, Panjab, Panjabi and D.D.U. Gorakhpur Universities.

East Coast posts win

East Coast defeated Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority team 25-19, 25-18, 25-16 in a league match of the all-India invitation volleyball tournament for men held at Patamata Stadium here on Monday.
