Mourned

BANGALORE: Governor Rameshwar Thakur has condoled the death of former President R. Venkataraman.

In a release, the Governor said that Mr. Venkataraman rendered yeomen service as a member of the Constituent Assembly that drafted India’s Constitution.

“In his death, the country has lost a friend, philosopher and guide,” he said. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president R.V. Deshpande, KPCC working president D.K. Shivakar, Janata Dal (United) and State General Secretary G.K.C. Reddy have also expressed their condolences in separate messages. — Staff Reporter
