Murugan CC advances
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Murugan CC and Malappuram DCA moved into the pre-quarterfinals of the 14th Celestial Trophy all-Kerala cricket tournament at the Medical College ground on Tuesday.
Murugan CC defeated President XI, Pathanamthitta, by five wickets while Malappuram DCA won the rain interrupted match against Parle Agro TCA, Kayamkulam, on better run-rate.
The scores: President XI, Pathanamthitta, 83 in 23.2 overs (Venkatesh three for five, Mahesh three for 13) lost to Murugan CC 86 for five in 18.4 overs (Mahesh 38).
Malappuram DCA 165 for nine in 30 overs bt Parle Agro TCA, Kayamkulam, 105 for two in 19.2 oves (on better run-rate).
