Udhagamandalam: The services of former president R.Venkataraman were recalled at a meeting of the Udhagamandalam Municipal Council held on Wednesday. The monthly meeting was adjourned after homage was paid to the late leader. The Chairman of the Council R.Rajendran presided. Meanwhile the Save Nilgiris Campaign (SNC) said in a statement issued here that in the passing away of Mr. Venkataraman, “the Nilgiris has lost a long time friend and patron”. — Special Correspondent
