England wins warm-up match

BASSETERRE (ST. Kitts): Captain Andrew Strauss completed a century and spinner Monty Panesar played another leading role as England beat a St. Kitts and Nevis Invitational XI on the third and final day of the tour-opening warm-up cricket match on Tuesday. England won by 217 runs with eight overs remaining.

The scores: England 424 for eight decl. and 265 for five decl. (A. Strauss 103, I. Bell 52, A. Cook 50) bt St. Kitts & Nevis Invitational XI 251 and 221 (Rogers 79, S. Jeffers 41). — AP
