Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: A forum, comprising the Pattali Makkal Katchi, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Communist Party of India, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and the Tamil National Movement, was formed on Wednesday to promote the cause of Sri Lankan Tamils.
It will be called the Sri Lankan Tamil’s Protection Movement. Pazha Nedumaran of the Tamil National Movement will be the co-ordinator.
This was announced by CPI State secretary D. Pandian after an hour-long meeting at T.Nagar.
Mr. Nedumaran said that a silent protest would be organised in front of the Gandhi statue on Friday.
Asked whether police permission would be obtained, he said the forum would inform the Chennai Police Commissioner about its plan.
