Indian Air Force in final

NEW DELHI: A fine spell by medium-pacer D. K. Atri (four for 16) and a fluent knock by Saumik Chatterjee (44) helped India Air Force beat Collage Group by one wicket in the semifinals of the 13th Sahibzada Ajit Singh cricket tournament at the Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce ground, Pitampura, on Thursday.

Sanjay Bambal’s all-round effort (61 and two for 15) proved inadequate as India Air Force successfully chased the target of 161 with three balls to spare.

Collage Group had struggled at 66 for seven, but Bambal struck five sixes and five fours to infuse life into the contest.

In the final, Indian Air Force will meet Malik Sports.

The scores: Collage Group 160 in 39.4 overs (Sanjay Bambal 62, D. K. Atri four for 16) lost to Indian Air Force 161 for nine in 39.3 overs (Saumik Chatterjee 44).
