KADAPA: Telugu Desam Party leader M. Linga Reddy alleged on Thursday that the Congress leaders had prevailed upon revenue officials to include large number of bogus voters in Proddatur Assembly constituency. Addressing a press conference at Proddatur, he said 500 voters were enrolled in Kamanur, the native village of Congress MLA of Proddatur N. Varadarajulu Reddy as against 200 voters in the past. Officials resorted to irregularities under pressure from the ruling party leaders and were not initiating action on his complaints, though he submitted proof of bogus votes, he alleged. Mr. Linga Reddy alleged that a few hundred voters were enrolled in the houses of Mr. Varadarajulu Reddy, his brothers, followers and Pradesh Congress Committee secretary E.V. Sudhakar Reddy. Officials meted out injustice to the Telugu Desam Party by removing votes of its sympathisers or enrolling with ‘wrong’ photographs, Mr. Linga Reddy alleged.
